Holy schnikies!! This has been the longest period of time that Lovely Cyborg has gone without an update, and for that, my friends, I apologize. Reasons include: I started working two jobs, I didn't really have any new content to update with since I STILL cannot get my PHP Gallery script to work (all the images I load come up broken), and, well, I wanted to make a new layout and just didn't have the energy or inspiration to do it. However, as you can see, I finally have revamped the layout for spring. This time, I was using the lilac and white island outfit 18 wears on Roshi's island as inspiration. I hope you can all recognize it, although I did sort of stray from the original idea.

Anyway, aside from the fresh spring layout, there is nothing new. I have a metric ton of new cosplay pictures to upload. However, I refuse to just continue slapping them on the handful of pages I already have (it's just so sloppy to me). This whole Gallery script thing not working for no good reason thing is really starting to irk me, and I WILL find a way to either fix it, or showcase the pictures another way, mark my words. But, aside from the cosplay pics, I was thinking of making an 18-related merchandise page, what with all the amazing Red Ribbon army clothing COSPA put out recently.

I have a few other ideas for the site floating around in my head, but I will not have much time to see them come to fruition. I'm moving from Massachusetts back to my home town of Philadelphia on the 18th (yes, I picked that day on purpose) of May. It will probably be a little while before I'm settled, which is why I at least wanted to bang this layout out before all this happens. SO, that all said, keep your eyes peeled for more actual updates in the next month!

Well, after a few months with no working mail form, I finally got around to installing a new PHP form. That said, I can receive entries for The Contest again. Sa-weet!! I'm thinking about changing up the contest sometime soon, so it actually requires some sort of effort...fanart or a fanfic challenge or something like that. What do you think? Anyway, I'm also going to be changing around the cosplay section soon so it's easier to browse (since I'm working on a Dragonball cosplay site).

Ok. I accidently found the motherload of Japanese #18 related webrings today. I saw all SORTS of amazing new fanart and cosplay, and I'm sure fanfiction if I could read Japanese. It's too late for me to really update the site now, but I'm going to look into asking some of these Japanese cosplayers and fanartists if I can showcase some of their work on my site. It's too incredible not to be shown. I am really blown away...haha. Oh yeah. The reason for this update was because I added some very cute sprites from one of the Japanese fanartists. :)

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm kicking off the holiday season with new winter themed colors. The new banner features a photoshopped image of a wonderful Dragonball cosplayer, Bulma! I'll be putting up some more information on her later, because right now I have to get to bed. Tomorrow is a work day for me!

Good GOD! As you may have already noticed, I am in the middle of switching to a new, much better server (hopefully no more ridiculous CGI server downtime). Half of the site has been moved over, while the other half waits to be uploaded. I figure, instead of just copying the same old files, why not do a good update on some of them as well? So, that said, the fashion section got a big facelift. Took me too long though, and now I have to go to bed and leave half the site undone. ;-; But rest assured, it will all be back up by Sunday. ^_^

I just uploaded a good lot of fresh cosplay pics to that whole section, and redid the pics for Other Jinzouningen. I also uploaded a bunch of crystal clear scans (including a BEAUTIFUL scan of the Android ABC chart) that a fan of the site sent me, replacing a good number my crappy digi cam photos. I lost your name, though! What is it so I can credit you! Aside from that, I updated the media section with a bunch of Shonen Jump "scans" ...just random images of her that I liked. Nothing too special. Seems like this update is all about images. o_o;

I got the CGI script working again. People can once again enter the Contest without getting a damn error notice. I haven't gotten around to posting all the images (cosplay/daizenshu/fanart), yet, but I suspect I'll have that up sometime this weekend. I also need to fix the images in Other Jinzouningen, since they look like super crap on a dark background. Sheesh...

As you can all see, the layout has been changed! I think it can be aptly named the grungy cosplay layout. Nothing too amazing. I just changed the colors (and fonts) around to be more autumnal. I'm not too sure how I feel about using my own cosplay pics in the banner, and I might change it later, but for now it'll do. I just wanted to get to the updates, which are going to carry on into tomorrow since it's quite late right now. I have cosplay pics, Daizenshuu scans (compliments of Meri ♥!) and fanart to add. So far, I've only updated the Question Time section with an amusing email. I also realized that my mail form hasn't been working for a long time, so no one has been able to enter the Contest! What the hell? For some reason, when my hosting service switched CGI servers, the script was affected and hasn't worked since! ;-; But rest assured, I am working on fixing that, and YES adding the 2nd freaking chapter of my fanfic SOMETIME. Pray for me!

This, I think, has been the longest time Lovely Cyborg has gone without an update. Today's update is trivial - just added a fanlisting button. Sorry to get your hopes up. We made 20,000 hits recently, so people are still coming! Um, but don't worry. I've got cosplay pictures, fanart (hopefully), and most importantly to me, the second chapter of my Cyborg Memoirs fanfic coming. Things have been slow for the site recently because I've been working to launch my online shop, not related to this site in any way (I'm making handbags. n_n), and next month I am moving. Still, fear not, for Lovely Cyborg shall have fresh updates soon enough!

Another cosplay update, really only of my own costumes. Added a few new fanart pieces my boy Steve made for me, along with a wallpaper done by him as well. VERY cute stuff, so check it out. Also, there is a new fanfiction...annnd, I think that's about it. Busy working on the 2nd chapter of my own fanfic, and not much else exciting really. AnimeNEXT was a blast. Hanging out with VegettoEX, Julian and Meri was amazing good fun. I took a lot of goofy pictures. They're in the "celebrity photos" section in Media. :D Oh yeah, and after spending lots of time with Julian and VegettoEX's daizenshuu, I'm thinking of adding a factoid section to the site. We'll see!

My birthday was yesterday! I turned 21 and got a ton of good stuff, including an amazing piece of framed #18 fanart from my buddy over at Dorothy, Dorothy. I'll try to take a pic of it so I can put it up in the fanart section. Anyway, Question Time got updated today with a really interesting question. Check it out. I'm working on chapter 02 of my fic, Cyborg Memoirs, so it should be up before the month is out, hopefully. Then there are all those other sections I should be working on (like cosplay, the bio, etc), but haven't been cause ohhh I'm lazy. :/ AnimeNEXT is coming up fast. I'll be there, cosplaying as #18 of course. I'm also going to be on the Dragonball: 20 Years of Fandom panel with VegettoEX, Julian, and Meri of DaizenshuuEX and Temple O' Trunks fame, not to mention I'll be running the Cyborgs and Androids and Robots! Oh My! panel. If you're going, please check it out!
Oh, and I need a new counter, dammit. It seems my Bravenet counter has started to load pop-ups when you access my site. Pricks. I already use an OKCounter on my writing site (which logs your IP address, so I can't get another). Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a new, subtle counter for free?

The Cyborg or Android section has been completely rewritten into a more concise "essay" of sorts. I'm satisfied with the result but can't shake the feeling like something is off. As of right now, I can't find any glaring errors in it. We'll see what happens. In other site updates, I expanded and rewrote the Rumors & Myths section, added new fanart, a wallpaper (finally!), edited the Other Jinzouningen section, and uhhh I think that's it. The Cosplay section (that desperately needs an update) is almost ready. I nearly have the php Gallery figured out. Just having some problems with the NetPBM binaries. The Contest hasn't been started up again because there's only one entry. The last two winners have yet to respond to me with their addresses so I can send them their prizes. Seems like interest is waning, yeah? I'm thinking of holding a fanart/fanfic contest...

In other news, my birthday is this June 6th, and the site's birthday is the 12th. AnimeNEXT 2004 starts June 18th (lucky day!), which I'll be attending. Yahoo to all that!

No big news. Really just an update to announce the year anniversary is approaching (June 7th, day after my own birthday June 12th) and that I didn't disappear. The site was down for a few days, only because my web hosting service was migrating to a new CGI server. I'm in the process of redoing and updating the Rumors and Myths section, as well as the Cyborg or Android and Personal Speculations sections. The Cosplay section needs to be updated too, but I'm really having trouble with the damn PHP gallery I want to use for it (there aren't any instructions on how to unpack it). I'd greatly appreciate any help from someone that is familiar with PHP. ♥! Oh, forgot to mention that I also have a bunch of manga "scans" (read: digicam photos) to put up as well. Expect this all in the near future!

Oh schnap! There are so many updates today, I dunno if I'll remember em all. First of all there's a new layout! Secondly, there's a new section called Rumors & Myths, so check that out. Links have been cleansed and a few more have been added. Every single page of the site has been edited and rewritten (some pages almost entirely). The 3rd Contest has ended and a winner announced, and I posted pictures of the prize the 1st Contets winner received. I'm working on getting a php gallery script up for the cosplay section, but until it IS up and running, it won't change, even though I have a bunch of new cosplay pics to add. The Cyborg or Android essay is going to be rewritten today or tomorrow, and I should have the Biography section finally up soon as well. Umm, and I think that's it. I THINK.

Aiyee!! Don't kill me for not updating! Lovely Cyborg reached 10,000 hits at the beginning of March, but I didn't have time to celebrate. :( March was a pretty bad month for updates in general. I didn't do a special layout for St. Patty's day OR April Fool's, and I haven't updated with anything good in a while...but I swear it's for a good reason! I've been working my ass off trying to make 3 costumes, get organized for my panel on artificial humans, write for the newsletter, and press buttons for Anime Boston 2004. I haven't been online much at all, as my friends can tell, nor has my live journal been updated that much either. But I swear! I'll be back full force once Anime Boston is over. I'll have more cosplay pictures, more content, and all that other happy jazz. So no big update now? Well, the whole reason for THIS update was to announce that The Contest will be concluding on April 12th, the Monday after Anime Boston, so get your votes in and whoever wins will get a hand-made, #18-related prize from me! :)

Bah. I've really been meaning to update sooner, but I just never feel like writing for those sections that need to be tended to. Anyway, I added three new contestants to The Contest, all of which seem to be pretty fierce #18 fans. ^_^ I've decided that eventually, I'm going to have actual pictures of my cosplay clothing in the fashion section, along with a single picture of the real costume. I'd do it now for the costume I have made, but there are still inaccuracies in my costume (and we can't go posting inaccurate pictures, can we?). I also intend to revise the Other Jinzouningen section to include pictures and seperate descriptions of each of them, instead of just lumping them together in paragraphs and all. Then I still need to write the in-depth biography. Some day I intend to actually buy the DBZ DVDs and list the episodes and manga chapters #18 appears in...but that's a long ways off. This site is ever-growing. Phew!

To go along with this, I made a new banner that isn't as...messy looking as the previous one was. I'm not quite sure if I like the new one a whole lot, with the 2nd image of Juuhachi, but we'll see how it grows on me. I'm more than likely gonna have a new editorial up before the night is out, and am revising the Cyborg or Android page. Then there is the biography to tackle! If you noticed, there is now a new section in the navigation. About is now going to strictly contain factual information about 18, while Related is going to contain more opinionated items, ya dig? But dammit, I had more sections for About and now I can't remember what they were!

Aiyee! I'm close to the 10,000 unique hits mark!! Been a while between updates though, and it's not entirely my fault. The Contest is now closed, and I was supposed to pull the poll down and declare a winner on Valentine's Day...but thanks Lycos and HTMLGear, I can't log in to my account and CHANGE things. I've sent in a password request nearly every day, and it never arrives, not even in my spam box...so I was forced to create a new account. I had to create a new guestbook, since I can't gain access to the old one to comment on entries. :P That aside, the winner of The Contest is up, there's a new editorial in the works, I'm editing some of the regular pages, adding a few links, changing a few links, adding a few cosplay pics of myself, a fanfiction...annnd I think that's it. I had a special, pink layout on Valentine's Day, too, but I don't think anyone saw it. :( I should have taken a screen cap and created a Holiday Layouts section or something. Ooh, that's a new section idea!

In other news, I'll be attending Anime Boston, this April 9th to 11th, so if you've already pre-registered (since the con has alreayd sold out!), look for me! I'll be dressed up as our favorite blond lady, and running around trying to get the big scoop for the con's 3-day newsletter. :)

Two more contestants have been added to the contest, and with 13 days left to vote, there is still a chance for ANYONE to be winner! I also fixed some of the mystery lyrics in the Android 18 song lyrics, thanks to Cody. Added the delightful Teller Amroth's site to the Juuhachi links as well. Other than that, nothing too new. I'll probably be revising the information in certain sections later. Been working on my other site, Jinzouningen Daisuki, which will be launched in the future at some unforseen point. Everything's cool really, cept for some drama people continually try to start over me and this site. I guess I go bragging to other people all the time that my site is the best out there, and I'm bitchy to people. Where this information comes from and who starts it, I have no clue...but man, I am really not down for that kind of petty crap. What I find most humorous is that someone tried to go to Meri, owner of Temple O' Trunks and tell her how much I sucked and that the only reason I get hits is because she links my site. Eyeroll like whoa. Oh well. That fact that there are people out there that don't like me and my site is proof enough that Lovely Cyborg IS popular. Sup.

Added those cosplayers I've been talking about, four new ones to be exact. Uploaded the first editorial piece for the ed/op section, and I'm writing another one right now. Got an email with the answer to the missing/garbled lyrics in the Android 18 song, so I have to go check on that and fix it if it IS correct. Gotta add someone to The Contest, extend the date on it, and go to the damn fabric store for supplies to make prizes for the winners STILL. I'll probably begin work on a new layout sometime soon as well, though it won't be anything too fancy...maybe just a color scheme change or something like that. I'm very satisfied with the layout as it is, but it IS the new year. Oh, and I saw some Budokai 2 screenshots today. It seems to be that the outfit on a few cards and the later intro to DBZ where only her top half is shown is revealed! She's a buttoned up, sleeveless denim vest, capris and red thong sandals. Kawaii! :D Is the Red Ribbon logo on it? I doubt it. But what a cute outfit. 18 is defintely a capris kinda lady. So yeah, I'll eventually update the fashion section with that news.

Added the lyrics to "Android 18," the song Bruce Faulconer and Meredith McCoy co-wrote. It's in the Media, under the Bruce Faulconer CD part. The whole song appears to be solely about Juuhachi's relationship with Krillin, with an underlying wail of "don't fall for me." It's an interesting song. Very simplistic and yet very intriguing when you think of how deep it delves into Eighteen. I'm a fan.

Thinking of making a new layout. Gotta find the cosplay pics I've been meaning to post. In the middle or writing the first editorial piece for the ed/op section. Turns out you can see me for a split second, cosplaying #18 in the MTV Ultimate Video Game Countdown show (which aired yesterday at 8pm), during the Final Fantasy segment. Wondering if that's worth posting here or if that's more suited to another site. Oh yeah, and I added a link to ALICEbot, this chat bot thing with AI. It's messed up, yo.

Happy New Year!! Phew. Sorry for not updating in so long. I didn't really have anything to update with...or the means to update proper, anyway. I added two new, revealing (yet blurryish) images to the media section from the December 03 Shonen Jump, as well as a new link to a LiveJournal community dedicated to the creations of Dr. Gero. When I have more time, as a request, I am going to be putting the lyrics to the Android 18 song from the Bruce Faulconer CD. I also have a few cosplay pictures to add, not to mention writing something for the ed/op section. I know I have other things to add, but apparently I let stuff sit in my inbox for so long, they moved to saved mail. :P So I'll have to go fish that stuff out of my enourmous saved mail folder. And as you can maybe see, the Question Time section has become neglected. Nobody is writing in!!! I guess my site just isn't ready for a weekly update yet. ;-;

5,000 hits!! And whoa - HUGE update today!! Just in time for Thanksgiving, too! :) Well, first off, as I was paging through my new Shonen Jump to answer a question in the new Question Time section, I saw that they translated the chart of Dr. Gero's creations!!! AIYEE I'm excited!! Why? Well, for years I've had the very same chart in my Japanese Dragonball manga. I KNEW what it said, but I didn't have any exact translation to put up on the site. But now it's in Shonen Jump so I MUST scan! Expect it sometime in the future! Anyway, besides that exciting news, I've posted the very first questions in the Question Time section, which will be updated weekly as long as someone has a question for me. I added a cosplay video, links to the Android 18 CD available, and some "celebrity" pictures in the Media section. The Cyborg or Android section was edited a bit. And I finally, finally added the new contestants for The Contest!!

Yikes, I waited too long to update, I think. Or maybe what really happened is that I STARTED to work on updates like a week ago and then got sidetracked. Either way, there's two new sections up - the Editorial/Opinions section and the Question Time section. Ed/Op is self explanitory, though at the time of this update, there's nothing in there really. Submit your own, please! Question Time is a weekly ask-me thing, like Daizenshuu EX has. I figure this site warrants such a section. And tomorrow, I promise, I will have these pics up from AnimeNEXT I keep mentioning, cause I will finally be picking up my pics from the drugstore. Damn! Also, I edited some more sections, I think. I may have uploaded those a week ago without really noting them as an update. Oh well. I'll figure it out. Got a strange fanfic submission that I think is a prank, and either way, I'm thinking about posting it just for laughs. Also gotta get on the ball with The Contest. I have like 3 submissions! -.-;

Ooookay! I've been slacking off a bit. Today, while checking what my counter was at, I decided to look at my guestbook for new entries...and MAN! I had some flames like it was goin outta style! All of them were pretty pathetic. I ended up responding to one girl's very long, absurd entry with a longer one, myself. Read it if you want. Oh well. My first flames...I guess I should be proud. Anyway! What are the new updates? For starters, I've added a bunch of new fanart that was submitted to me by two wonderful artists. Then I added two new Juuhachigou cosplayers, and some fantastic ones at that. I added a link or two to the links section as well. Just got back from AnimeNEXT! I was one of three or four DBZ cosplayers there! What a shame! BUT! What did happen was that I got a ton of cute Dragonball/Akira Toriyama/DBZ related merchandise. Well, not a ton, but a lot for a dealer's room, considering DBZ isn't the "in" thing at all nowadays. Thank god for the re-release of DBZ in Japan! Anyway, it was my first masquerade. I had the MC state I was dressed as CYBORG #18, not android, but the crowd cut him off and started yelling "android!!" instead. How annoying!!!! I am considering doing a panel now (at Anime Boston 04, if possible) educating the innocent masses about cyborgs, androids, and robots, so I'll keep ya'll up to date on that possibility. Aside from my first masquerade, I actually met VegettoEX of Daizenshuu EX and Meri (his lovely lady) of Temple O' Trunks! I took a couple of pictures of/with them, too, just to prove I'm not making such things up - and you better believe I'll be posting them when they're developed! Word is BOND, my friend! So there is no real update until those pics. I really just kind of went through re-reading my site to make sure things were up to date, ended up finding a typo and edited that. Oh, and I picked up the "Android 18: The Android Sagas" CD by Bruce Falconer. And the lyrics to that song are intense, might I add...so I guess I'll do something with that for the next update too. Well, it's September 22nd and Lovely Cyborg just went past the 3,000 hit mark in just under four months! How proud could I be? Perhaps the jump in hits was from Cartoon Network airing the Trunks Special (with the terrible hard rock rap metal soundtrack) a couple weeks ago. :) Anyway, I took down the fan fiction posted from the last update after receiving some fics actually centered around Juuhachi and her family. So that's up. I should have The Contest up and running sometime soon. There's been a delay only because I haven't had time to make the prize for the winner of the last contest! I feel so bad! Aiyee. Oh, here's just a note to those interested: I will be attending AnimeNEXT, this October 3rd to 5th in Rye, NY. And I WILL be cosplaying Juuhachi! Also, Viz should be releasing the next Dragonball Z manga sometime soon, which should contain the first appearance of the twins. Exciting!

September 1st! Wow September already. Crazy, huh? Well, that's ok cause I made that "big" update I was talking about today. Not only is there a bunch more fanart, but there is actually fan fiction in the fic section! Oh yeah! Well, admittedly, it's not JUST about 18, but it IS the first submitted fan fiction and she IS in the story somewhat. So yay. I must note, though, that I will be taking it down once a proper #18 fan fic is received. Not cause it sucks or anything, but because we can't have fics more about Gohan than 18 up on this site! Also, today marked the end of The Contest, with entrant number 2 as the winner with 27 votes for her being the craziest, most obsessed c18 fan! I'll be mailing her some sweet #18/Red Ribbon Army-related item in the mail sometime, and she'll also be getting a fly little award banner for her site. The Contest will be starting back up again in a couple days, though, so enter if you think you've got the right stuff...or if you want a free goodie from me (if you win, that is). Phew! Today I revised the Cyborg or Android? essay/section thing. Rewrote some parts and added a few linked pics to the thing. I also added a couple of those Shonen Jump scans to the media section, and I'll be updating The Contest page after I write this. The person with the most votes on the poll at the end of August gets a special Red Ribbon Army prize! Whee! =twirls finger= Oh yeah. I still gotta get around to posting those fanfics. Sorry!

My, my, my! Since the last update, I received quite a few site-related emails in my in-box! For one, I got some fanart submissions from the lovely Stephanie J. I received a new entrant for The Contest, and I got my very first fanfic submission! I was so excited to see it. ^_^ But I won't post the fanfic up just yet (of which there are 3 in all). I still haven't had a chance to read them all yet. I've skimmed one and it seemed good...but I have to see if there is enough Juuhachi goodness in them. The author said these weren't totally about her, though he was writing some fanfics about #18, so we'll see what these are all about. So far so good. Recently, I got a spike in hits too...I wonder what that's all about. But I'm happy. For some reason, I didn't expect my site to be as visited as it was, since there are so many other shrines out there. Who knew?

Ok, back from boring-ass, but peaceful Maine! Put 2 new links in that section...interesting cyborg reads and the like. And I got the August Shonen Jump, which has the oh-so-sweet fight between Vejita and Juuhachi, with color pages! So I should be scanning a couple things from that, most importantly the line where Shonen Jump states that #17 and #18 are cyborgs. w00t! So the hit count has dramatically slowed down, but that's ok. Today I added about the last of my "good" fanart to that section, and really all my fanart is not much more than rpg-related sketches. Oh well. I still like it. And when I get around to that part in my fanfic, you'll have pics. :D Anyhoot, I also added a fine contestant to The Contest, but I still need at least one more entry before I can put a poll up. Is it fair to enter myself even though I'm the site owner? Hmm. Oh, and btw, I'll be leaving this Saturday, the 28th, for Maine and won't be back till the next Sunday. Happy 4th of July, America! ^_^

Day 5, is this? Hit count has slowed down, but as I type, I'm at 309! I'm impressed. Anipike now has my link in their database. I wasn't aware there were so many shrines to the jinzouningen! But anyway, I managed to upload a bunch of manga scans today. Not a ton...just a choice few that I like. They're in the media section, so check em out. I think I'll be joining a few site directories sometime soon, too, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts on making a fanlisting type thing for Juuhachi? Hmmm...

Wow. Only three days after its debut, Lovely Cyborg has somehow already managed 250 hits. O,o; Vegetto, himself, from Daizenshuu EX gave me the honor of linking this site...so I can account for about half of the hits coming from his link. Thanks! We must dispell this whole "android" myth! But besides all that, a Puar Briefs sent me a poem for the poetry section! w00t! Also, I uploaded the chart of Dr. Gero's jinzouningen into the misconceptions section. I hope to have it translated sometime soon. Tomorrow, I am hoping I can upload some more of my fan art and manga scans, but I have to study for my driver's permit test tomorrow (20 and still can't drive - what a shame!)...wish me luck! ^_^v

ALMOST FINISHED! Maybe tonight I'll even have the site up! w00t!
EDIT: The site IS done. I just need to get the damn PHP guestbook script working, which it's not doing...so I said "ef it, I'm not gonna hold up the launch just cause I'm stupid!" Oh, and besides the damn guestbook problem, the idea occured to me to make perhaps a fanlisting type of section for the site, where people can take a banner type thing and slap it on their webpage if they got love for my favorite cyborg. ^_^

Well, I've been scouring the net for even more pics for the cosplay section and getting permission from about everyone and their mom to use pictures. But I'm halfway done the adoration section and then the site is downright complete! ^_^ My birthday is this Friday, so I'm mad excited. :D And, well, things are going good.

I actually forget the date, but construction on the site began in May! Finally had the layout and first few sections done...then work got in the way of the construction schedule. Heh...
